For Your Consideration…
Cline Big Break Zinfandel 2006
This is a great California red wine. Eucalyptus mint, firm structure and exotic spice are key elements. A robust wine, the wine reveals crisp, dark wild berries, hints of dark chocolate with vanilla and spicy oak. A distinct dusty berry character (reminiscent of picking wild black berries in the hot summer sun) effuses predominately from this wine.
Hahn Meritage 2006 Wines
This wine consists primarily of Merlot from the cool-climate Santa Lucia Highlands Deer Valley Vineyard which is protected from the cooler coastal elements of the region. The blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec that come together to provide layer after layer of synergistic flavors.
Serve with barbecued pork ribs, roasted duck and plum sauce, or spaghetti and Italian sausage. For casual enjoyment, pack it in the picnic basket with roast beef and Swiss sandwiches and seasoned potato chips.
Heitz Cellar Chardonnay
This delicious wine moves smoothly and confidently onto the palate, delivering a well-balanced citrus flavor with just a light touch of oak. From the first refreshing taste through the gracefully extended finish, you will enjoy this Chardonnay — a delightful expression of the varietal, ripened in the Napa Valley sun.
Sketchbook Cabernet Sauvignon Mendocino 2005
Aged Bordeaux-fashion in lightly-toasted French oak, the lush, dark berry flavors are rounded out by velvety, chocolate tannins. The wine displays a dark scarlet color and a youthful, complex aroma of ripe, sweet cherries imbued with hints of cassis and cedar. Its warm, expansive, cherry and blackcurrant flavors are well-structured and extend into a long, fruitful finish enriched by toasty oak tones.
Perfect with hearty fare: free-range bison burgers, rosemary-scented white beans or lamb with roasted vegetables.
Susan’s Hill Syrah
This bold red wine has a contrast in flavor profile. The aromas are driven more by fruit and gaminess. Leather, sage and olive are also noted and contribute to a very complex and intense nose. The palate is just as intense. The wine is very full bodied and has a core of densely packed ripe tannins.
