To the 31 people who helped us set a record for attendance at the Diamond Ridge Wine Club meeting last week, thanks so much. For those who didn’t make it, you don’t know what you missed. It was our best meeting by far. We tasted a lot of good wine, exchanged tips on holiday hosting and food. We even sampled some smoked turkey and some mini-muffins that combined pumpkin puree with cake mix. It was out of this world.
This will be a busy week for everyone with Thanksgiving closing in fast and the start of the Christmas shopping season starting the next day. But if you get a chance, stop by the market and stock up on wine for the holiday and the weekend.
If I were going to buy one wine for the Thanksgiving meal, I think it would be the elegant Reserve Pinot Noir by Ventisquaro. We sampled it at the meeting and it’s about as perfect as you can get for a wine that will deliver great taste and be a great compliment to your meal. The wine delivers a brightly colored ruby red wine, fruit-driven by cherry and strawberry aromas with flavors of vanilla and tobacco from French oak cask aging. This fresh, smooth, elegant and complex reserve wine combines perfectly with white meat or salmon, or as an aperitif.
Make sure you come back on Friday when the market will start showcasing its Christmas offerings on wine and wine accessories. If you’re looking for something for that wine lover you know, the Diamond Ridge Market can fill the bill.
Have a happy Thanksgiving.
