For Your Consideration: A trio of fine wines! Any one of these is a sure fire winner.
Torbreck Descendant
The Descendant is a single vineyard Shiraz-Viognier which, as the name implies, is a direct descendant of RunRig. It’s an old oak-aged blend of 92% Shiraz and 8% Viognier that offers up notes of blackberries, ink, sweet truffles, and acacia flowers. A complex and meaty blend of Shiraz with a small amount of heady, fragrant and spicy Viognier, this is a first-class wine whose sumptuous fruit, high-quality oak and firm, powdery tannins are finely balanced and tightly integrated.
Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon
Bin 707 is a ripe, intensely flavored fruit; completing fermentation and matured in new American oak; and expressing the Penfolds policy of multi-vineyard, multi-region fruit sourcing. Full bodied and with good cellaring potential, Bin 707 has a secure place among the ranks of Australia’s finest Cabernet.
Amelia Chardonnay
The wine is aged eleven months in French oak barriques. The result is a wine with complex flavors and aromas, yet with an elegance reminiscent of French Chardonnays. Amelia has a deep, pale greenish-yellow color. The wine is complex and highly mineral with elegant hints of smoke and honey. On the palate, hints of tropical fruit harmoniously blend in with the oak. A wine with personality and a long, complex, integrated finish. Amelia Chardonnay is a delightful accompaniment to fresh seasoned fish and foods with strong character.
