Cowboys, broncs, and longhorn cattle….what more would you expect from an Oklahoma rodeo? The Woodward Elks PRCA Rodeo takes place on the third weekend of July every year in Woodward, Oklahoma. As a trick rider with the Trixie Chicks Trick Riders, dangling off the side of a galloping horse is always thrilling and dangerous, but when you add in a big and loud rodeo crowd, our horses run faster and tricks get pushed to the limit. Thanks to PFI Western Store, I was glad to have quality riding equipment, as well as boots and western clothing for everything both inside and outside of the arena.
We started out our biggest rodeo of the year with an all-day cattle drive, pushing 70 head of longhorn cattle through brush, timber, and open fields, traveling through downtown Woodward, and ending at the rodeo arena. My Dan Post square toe boots and Miss Me jeans were durable enough to get me through the rough terrain, as well as comfortable enough to wear all day in the saddle.
When we weren’t driving the cattle or getting dirty on the rodeo grounds, The Trixie Chicks and I were continuously busy with promotional work and interviews with local radio stations and newspapers. My Ariat Ranchero boots, Rock Revival jeans, and belt (from PFI) helped me rock my interviews and everyone loved them around town.
PFI Western Store kept my horse Cinch and I, as well as all of the Trixie Chicks, stocked with halters, lead ropes, athletic tape, bits, sport boots, bridles, and everything else we needed to hit the rodeo road!
